If you will use a map while reading Geography Part it will really help you in long run and connecting various other things like culture, customs, manners, fairs, festivals etc. But main thing is that you revise it frequently.

  13. sir ,what is the expected cut off of HPAS 2014..I am expecting 220!!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Cutoff will be above 220 .definitely if answer key is corrected. Sorry my friend. Very less chance to qualify. I am also scoring 231. Sinve there is large number of non Himachali candidates, so cutoff will definitely be higher than so called predictions. If you go through various websites having discussions, you will find many candidates who are scoring in range of 200-220.But, if answer key is corrected then score of such candidates will definitely increase by atleast 20 marks. If you the results of poll conducted on this website ,then you will find that out of 150 odd candidates ,20 candidates are scoring above 200. so, 1 out of 7-8 candidates is scoring above 200 marks. So, it depends on your score in revised answer key.

      Delete
    2. Cut off can never be above 220 . If answer is corrected then cutoff will be 185 otherwise close to 170 if psycho questions are scraped and marks are not given in.proportion. There are very few candidates who scoring above200. If you go through last year's online discussion, you will very rare candidates who were scoring below 200 and discussing on online platforms. But , this year, you will find maximum candidates who are discussing their marks are in 180-200. And many serious candidates are below this range. Even last year maximum people were predicting 215 as cutoff but actual cutoff was 202. And in this 202 , 8 marks were given to each candidate for 8 scrapped questions. Moreover, this year's gs paper was tougher than last year. And 60 more candidates will be selected. And I don't think that in a one year time span, hpas has become a very popular exam for non himachali candidates who are seriously preparing for upsc. So, considering various factors cutoff will be closer to 185 if less questions are scrapped .

      Delete
    3. Yes you are right cutoff ain't cross 185 . But psychology question will not be scrapped , students are not that activist to be on radar of that HPPSC ,So be realistic 185 .

    8. @K.S. Tomar Be optimistic friend!! Last year, many question in answer key were wrong. But HPPSC corrected those answers. This time also, HPPSC will provide the right answers in revised key including Psycho questions.
If you have attempted psycho questions then you can discuss those answers. Because good score in prelims can give impetus to the study of mains hopeful candidates like me.
